American Aircraft of World War 2 Camouflage Guide


Whilst the British and Amercians had similar desert paint schemes for their aircraft, in the European theatre of war the Americans opted for 1 colour for the top and 1 colour for the bottom of the plane, during the early part of World War 2. Although once air superiority had been reached, they adopted just colours for anti glare and unit markings only.
