The noise from that Merlin engine is already impressive from the ground, so imagine the moment the Spitfire slots neatly into formation next to you. It truly is magical and emotive. You
feel incredibly privileged to be able to see this plane from a truly unique angle and unrestricted views from the chopper mean that you will capture amazing shots of the Spitfire.
In fact, you'll be so close to the plane that you'll be able to wave at Flight Lieutenant Charlie Brown who will be at her controls!
Charlie will ensure he flies the Spitfire level below and along each side of the helicopter, so everyone gets a chance for the superb viewing angles and you'll have the superb views of the
English Channel, the patchwork of Kentish fields or even those famous white cliffs as the backdrop to your photos.
This chance to fly alongside a Spitfire is befitting homage to those who flew in the Battle of Britain to defend out coastlines from enemy attacks and an experience we know will put a
tear in your eye. An experience full of emotion, with lasting memories.
Fly alongside a Spitfire on a helicopter flight lasting approximately 10 minutes. The Spitfire will fly in formation on both sides of the aircraft giving you excellent close up views and
air to air photo opportunities. The flight is preceded by a short ground briefing. The Spitfire used is BM597 a Mk Vb Spitfire from the Historic Aircraft Collection and is usually flown by
Charlie Brown an experienced Spitfire pilot.
